Late 19th Century Lapis Glass and Sterling Catholic Rosary Many Medals – French - Rare

All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection. They are genuine antiques – older than 100 years – or genuine vintages – from 30 to 100 years old. All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use.

The item in this listing has the following characteristics:

This is a French Rosary dating from the late 19th century - based on general style and medal types.

1. 8 mm average dia. Vintage Glass (?) Lapis Lazuli beads for the Ave Marias and 10 mm average dia. for the Pater Nosters. At first look these beads appear to be Lapis Lazuli but a closer inspection reveals they are glass imitating Lapis, but made so well that one may be mistaken. The beads are definitely hand made in view of the small variations in size and shape. In fact this high quality, perfectly crafted art glass is today much more rare than genuine Lapis.

2. Attached to the Rosary are 3 Silver medals which may be seen on close up in the pictures.

3. STERLING SILVER cross 42 X 30 mm without the bail. Please look at the picture closely.

5. All Metal parts are Sterling Silver.

6. Total length : 53 cm (21.5 in.) -- Total weight : 71 grams - Large item. Will easily go over the head.

This item is very nice and quite rare, it is practically 110 years old and still in great condition.
